Harry R. Nichols Sr., 86, passed away August 11, 2025, just one day shy of his 87th birthday surrounded by family. He was born in Adena, OH to the late Forest Sr. and Bertha (Carruthers) Nichols, retired from the Ford Motor Company with 42 years of service and was a former long-time member of Grace Cathedral.

He was well known throughout the greater Akron area as Dick Nichols, the windshield guy, by countless other people whom he met throughout the years.
He was a gentle giant with a heart of gold that never met a stranger. He led by example, he loved life, and his family was always his first priority.

We are honored to have been able to call him our dad and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceded in death by his wife, Doris, he is survived by his children, Ric, Tony (Lisa), Pamela (Rick) Coble, John (Moranda) and Matthew (Kirstie); grandchildren, Joseph (Shannon), Amanda (Jeremy) Mauthner, Caitlin (Johnathan) Tromler, Alexis, Hailey, Mattison and Emma; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Connie Willis and Donna Long; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 18, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 19 at 11 a.m. with burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
