Harry Porter Jr. age 87 of Salem, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Baptist Health Floyd.
Mr. Porter was born March 3, 1938 in Corydon, the son of Harry E. Porter and Margaret Jessie Ferber Porter. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Porter retired from Schwarz Pharma in Seymour. He loved the outdoors, doing farm work when he was younger, and mowing grass in his later years.
Mr. Porter is survived by his daughters: Donna Mitchell (Lonnie) of Salem, Diana Jarvis, his brother, Leonard Porter (Donna) of Mitchell, sister Mary Frances Clipp (Joe) of Columbus, Indiana, his grandson, Eric Mitchell (Sabrina), great grandchildren: Paxtin Mitchell, Brayden Westfall, Emma Westfall and his fur baby and best friend, Dolly.
Mr. Porter is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna, his son Randy Porter, daughter Carol Ann Porter, great grandson Meleek Mitchell, brothers, Elmer Porter, Virgil Porter, Gerald Porter, Walter Porter, and his sisters, Marie Vaught, Agnus White and Beatrice Milligan.
Services will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 2:00p.m at Weathers Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, from 10:00a.m until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown, Indiana.
