Harry C. Ramsey passed away peacefully November 12, 2025 at his daughter's home in
Bend, OR. Harry was born July 20, 1942 to Samuel and Bertha (Castle) Ramsey. He grew up in Gresham, OR and graduated from Gresham High School in 1960. He spent 4 years in the Navy serving on the submarine USS Plunger. After the Navy he began working in construction for Jasco in Portland OR. His construction jobs brought him to Bend when he worked on the new middle school - Pilot Butte, he also worked on the pink US Bank Tower in Portland.
He was married to Lynda (Lyons) for 23 years and had 2 children, Blain and Erin. Harry spent many years dory fishing out of Pacific City with his friends and brothers. He enjoyed hunting and camping in Central and Eastern Oregon. Harry moved full time to Pacific City in the late 80's where he continued to work in Portland until retirement. During this time he married Kelli Atkinson, they divorced after 9 years.
He spent his retirement fishing and visiting friends and family. Harry loved the beach, he spent many hours with his dogs just watching the ocean. He was able to stay in his home with the help of his friend Sally and his neighbor T. In September 2025, he reluctantly moved from Pacific City to Bend because of health challenges.
Survivors include his daughter Erin (Ramsey) Hoffman, son-in-law Joel Hoffman, grandchildren JT, Ellie and Anna; brothers Dick, Jim, Sam, and a sister, Nancy, multiple nieces and nephews, as well as life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, half-sister Rita Schoeffel (2025) and his beloved son Blain (1986). Harry will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.
Harry will be interred at Willamette National Cemetery. Harry did not want a memorial service, but you can honor his memory by spending time with family or friends enjoying the outdoors or fishing. An informal gathering will be held at a later date in Pacific City.
