Mr. Harry Christian Rearick, age 52, of San Leandro, California, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2026, following a courageous 6 year battle with cancer. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Deepstep Community Church, with Reverend Eddie Wiggins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Rearick, known to his friends as Chris, but to his family he will always be Harry. He was was born in Bristol, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Harry A. Rearick and Kathleen Castor Thompson. The family moved to Augusta, Georgia in 1976. Chris was a jack of all trades and could do just about anything from mechanic work to home restoration. He was an excellent and talented painter and painted the golf course for the Masters every year. Chris had an excellent sense of humor which helped him and others throughout his battle with cancer; he was also known to be brutally honest. He was a kindhearted man who would do just about anything he could for anyone he knew. Chris enjoyed watching horror movies and UFC as well listening to all types of music, especially Korn, and attending concerts all of which he enjoyed sharing either via FaceTime or in person with his sister Alisa. He was always dressed to the nines, and was easy to get along with. Chris loved his bulldog Rex and his dog pixie who will miss him dearly. He was very proud of his children, especially the fact that Christian was serving in the Air Force and that Miah was studying to be a nurse. In addition to his father, he has proceeded in death by his grandparents, Jennie and Vincent Castor and Jessie and Harry Rearick, Sr.
Mr. Rearick is survived by his wife, Deidre Bean; children, Christian Rearick, Miah Rearick (Trey), Baylee Jones, and Justin Walters; granddaughters, Kali, Nova, and Olivia; mother and stepfather, Kathleen and Scott Thompson of Deepstep; sister, Alisa Simpson; step-sisters Alicia Mears Gay, Kimberly Mears Blackstone, and Shannon Epperson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who cherish his memory.
