Harry Daniel "Dan" Smith, III, age 55, of Pendleton, passed away at his residence, Saturday May 7, 2016 after a sudden illness.
He was born August 5, 1960 in Indianapolis, the son of Harry Daniel and Sandra (Huff) Smith. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Ball State University.
Dan worked for Ontario Systems in Muncie as an IT Specialist for over 20 years. He enjoyed playing guitar and was a movie buff as evidenced by his seeing over 2700 movies.
Dan is survived by his children, Daniel Smith of Pendleton, Donovan Smith of Pendleton and Amber Nicole Smith of Bonita Springs, FL; mother, Sandra Smith of Indianapolis; grand-daughter, Emily Key of Bonita Springs, FL; sister, Pamela (Dean) Jessup; and nephew, Scott C. Walton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harry Daniel Smith, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Friday at Wilson-St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory - Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Pastor Mike Jessup officiating.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the Disabled Veterans of America or the charity of the donor's choice.
