Harry Dean Walker, age 91, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away from cancer on Monday, January 5, 2026. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Margaret (Lewis) Walker and sister, Frances Walker.

Harry retired from the State of Delaware after a dedicated career in the Division for the Visually Impaired. He was an active member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church and the Irish Culture Club of Delaware. Harry was a founding member and the first president of the New Castle County Irish Society. He found great joy in Irish Ceili dancing and was passionate about celebrating his heritage.

An avid supporter of University of Delaware football, Harry was a season ticket holder for 40 years. He took pleasure in painting ceramic pottery, loved antiquing and was an avid reader. These hobbies brought him much happiness throughout his life.

Harry graduated from Salesianum High School and Mount Saint Mary's University. He later earned his MS in Social Work from Boston College. Harry served as a priest for 11 years in the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, and also served as the principal of Faith City Christian School. He shared his life with his partner, Leonard, for 45 wonderful years.

Family and friends are invited to the visitation at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington on Friday, January 16 from 11:00AM – 12:00PM, with A Mass of Christian Burial offered for Harry immediately following. Interment will be held privately.
