Victor Paul Winkler, age 77, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Laurel on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on February 7, 1948, to his parents Louis and Elizabeth Winkler, in Wilmington, Delaware, Victor spent his life creating cherished memories and lifelong connections. He grew up in Wilmington and graduated from Salesianum High School and Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD.
Victor was a proud Air Force veteran who served his country with honor and dedication. After his military service, he built a life full of passion and creativity. A true craftsman at heart, he found joy in woodworking, often spending hours fixing furniture and re-caning chairs.
He was a member of the Salisbury Gun Club, where he cherished time spent with fellow enthusiasts. Victor had a warm spirit and a generous heart, making him a friend to many.
Victor leaves behind his loving wife, Alice A. Winkler; his son, Damon Winkler and wife Gina of Florida; and his treasured grandchildren, Carlee and Christa Winkler. He is also survived by his sisters, Lynn Winkler and wife Jill of Wilmington, DE and Betty Lou Simth and husband Wayne of Florida, and many nieces and nephews who will all miss him dearly.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no formal services held. Instead, family and friends are encouraged to remember Victor in their own special ways.
Arrangements are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
