Harve Jefferson McKnight

Harve Jefferson McKnight, 83, of Panhandle, TX passed away October 28, 2025.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Texline Cemetery in Texline, TX. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Harve was born June 1, 1942 in Clayton, NM to John Albert McKnight and Ella Mae Baldridge. He attended Clayton Schools and worked on a family farm growing up. Harve spent the majority of his years in the Texline and Dalhart area working for local farmers and for Shamburger Ranch. There he worked on sprinklers and irrigation wells while raising his family.

The last 8 years were spent in Panhandle where he attended Trinity Church and met some of the best people who became family. He enjoyed getting to laugh and tease with them.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lydia McKnight; son, Billy Jay; sister, Carolyn; and his brother, John.

Harve is survived by his children, Dustin McKnight of Tecumseh, OK, Michelle Cover of Eden, ID, Jennifer Lacy and husband Phillip of Panhandle, TX, and Brian McKnight and wife Heather of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Sarah Sherman and husband Travis of Oxbow, OR, Zane Cover of Salt Lake City, UT, Annie Cover of Twin Falls, ID, Gracie Cover of Weiser, ID, Jacob Lacy of Panhandle, TX, Katelyn Kowalewski and husband Braedyn of Panhandle, TX, Rylee McKnight of Amarillo, TX, and Jaxon McKnight of Amarillo, TX; great-grandson, Cedar Sherman; sisters, Ruby Smith of Lees Summit, MO and Billie Jean Withrow of Hugoton, KS; and many nieces, nephews, and lots of friends all of who became family.
