Harvey Eugene Schroeder

Harvey Eugene Schroeder was born May 27, 1952 in Washington, MO to Eugene and Marie (nee' Rolf) Schroeder. He passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025 at the age of 73 years.
Harvey grew up in Villa Ridge, MO where he attended St. John the Baptist Gildehaus Grade School and graduated from Pacific High School. After completing his education, Harvey worked on his family's farm in Villa Ridge and trained to become a carpenter. He joined Carpenters Local 1839 and worked as a carpenter, primarily doing commercial concrete work, until he retired in 2013.
Harvey had a passion for farming and worked the family farm most of his life. He farmed and raised most everything from crops to cattle. He lived on the family farm for over 60 years until he built a house and moved to New Haven in 2014. When he wasn't working or farming, Harvey enjoyed being outdoors deer hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time and talking with family members and friends. Harvey was a longtime member of St. Mary of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Villa Ridge. He was also an honorary life member of Knights of Columbus Msgr. George Hildner Council 8073 and a retired member of Carpenters Local 1839.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Marie (nee' Rolf) Schroeder; one brother in-childhood, Michael Schroeder; sister-in-law, Dottie Schroeder; and brothers-in-law: Richard Parmentier, Harold Brinker, and Ernest "Bud" Thacker.
He is survived by ten siblings: Betty Parmentier of Washington, Larry Schroeder of Union, Darlene Davis (Bob) of Union, Lorraine Harty (Jack) of Washington, Diane Brinker of Washington, Richard Schroeder of Villa Ridge, Ruth Thacker of Sullivan, David Schroeder (Karen) of St. Louis, Geralyn Stricker (Kenny) of Labadie, and Ralph Schroeder (Debbe) of Villa Ridge; dear cousin, Norman Schroeder of Union; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many dear friends.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at St. Mary of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Villa Ridge, MO with Rev. Alexander Nord officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorial visitation for 73-year-old Harvey Schroeder will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, MO. A parish rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Knights of Columbus Council #8073.
