HARVEY GENE STATEN, affectionately known as "Big Daddy Staten," was born on September 17, 1941, in Rosebud, Texas. He passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, camaraderie, and skill as an accomplished aircraft engineer.
Harvey's early education culminated in his high school graduation, followed by some college education, which laid the foundation for his successful career in the aerospace field. His talents and commitment to excellence were particularly evident during his service in the U.S. Air Force, where he honed his skills and developed a deep-seated respect for both technology and teamwork.
As an aircraft engineer, Harvey made significant contributions to the industry, influencing countless projects throughout his career. Colleagues and friends often admired his work ethic and innovative ideas, which helped shape advancements in aviation engineering. Harvey’s warm spirit earned him the esteemed nickname “Big Daddy Staten” among those who worked closely with him, reflecting his larger-than-life presence and the care he showed toward others.
Harvey’s journey through life was marked not only by his professional achievements but also by the relationships he nurtured along the way. He was known for his generosity and kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement. A wake for Harvey will be held on August 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. The funeral service will follow on August 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Church, also in Dallas. Harvey will be laid to rest on August 4, 2025, at 9:15 AM at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, where he will receive the honors befitting his service to the nation.
Harvey Gene Staten is remembered as a devoted professional, a cherished friend, and a beloved figure whose impact on the lives of those who knew him will be felt for years to come. His legacy will live on in the hearts of many, and he will be deeply missed.
