Hattie Mae Briscoe Bibbs, was born August 7, 1931, in Louisville, Kentucky, the only child of the late Isaac Thomas Briscoe and Orene Rena Young Briscoe. She was a graduate of High Street High School and Kentucky State University. Hattie was of the Baptist faith and loved her Lord and Savior. Hattie loved working in retail allowing her the opportunity to be around people. She was formerly employed by Stewarts, Big Lots, and Eleanors Womens Store. Being the military wife of the love of her life the late Walter Y. Bibbs, Sr., gave her the opportunity to explore life in a different light. Together they raised their 5 children showing them what life and family were all about. In later years Hattie worked as a Teacher's Aide, and Bus Monitor for Cumberland Trace Elementary. Hattie enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, but most of all being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
As time would stand still, Monday, June 17, 2024, Hattie passed from this world we know at the generous age of 92 years, 10 months and 10 days.
To cherish the memory of Hattie Mae Bibbs she leaves her children, Angela Bibbs (Tony) Bundy, Walter Y. (Renee) Bibbs, Jr., Sandra J. (Robert) Ellis, Timothy N. (Angela) Bibbs, and Denise J. Jacobs; grandchildren, Jerry, Natasha, Tiffany, Tanja, Olivia, Jasmine, Kornisha, Mia and Casey; several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sincerely,
-Your friends at Burnam and Son
