Hattie House Obituary
Hattie Lewis House, 87, of Virginia Beach passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 12, 2025. Other than for a brief time, she lived in the Chic's Beach section of Virginia Beach for over 60 years, where she amassed a large extended family that came in the form of neighbors and fellow members of her church, Bayside Baptist. Hattie will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, Tom Lewis and Gertrude Clay Lewis, husband Robert S. (Bobby) House, daughter Jeanmarie House Stephenson, special friend James (Jim) Lentz, and siblings Shirley, NT, Dewey and Charles. She is survived by her sister Jean Browder (Billy), brothers Robert (Linda) and Ray (Deane) Lewis, her grandsons Robert (Cariese) and Ben (Nicki) Stephenson and her great grandchildren Jackson, Colton, Chase and Kennley.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Williams Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, VA, followed by interment at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bayside Baptist Church, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455 in her name.
