Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Hazel Marie Bradley Pickard will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, with Brother Jim Hutchison officiating. Interment rites will immediately follow in the church's cemetery. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Pickard, age 89, of the Zero Community passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025 after a long illness at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Hazel was born on February 26, 1936 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late Reuben M. and Clara Mae Bradley. She graduated from Long Creek School. On May 17, 1957, she married the love of her life, Gerald Lamar Pickard, and to their union, two daughters were born. She was an active member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, where she enjoyed serving in various capacities when her health allowed. Mrs. Pickard worked for many years for Peavey Electronics before her retirement. She was also a member of the Long Creek Volunteer Fire Department, where she served as secretary and treasurer for many years. Hazel enjoyed camping, gardening, quilting, reading, fishing, and cooking delicious meals for her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Janice Pickard Gonzalez (Rolando) and Tena Pickard; grandchildren, Leighann Gonzalez, Gabriel Gonzalez (Mercy), and Claudia Beecher (Steven); great-grandchildren, Monet Louise Beecher, Declan Eugene Beecher, and Josephine Joy Gonzalez; brothers, James Bradley and Larry Bradley (Linda); sisters-in-law, Rae Carol Enzor (Arnold Ray) and Pat Pickard; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years; Gerald L. Pickard, siblings, Ruby Alexander (Mathe), Eldon Bradley (Pat), Edwin Bradley (Jo Ann), Edward Bradley, and Dorothy Collins (Richard); sister-in-law, Ernestine Bradley; and her brother-in-law, Wayne Pickard.
Pallbearers will be Daryl Matthews, Doyle Alexander, Gavin Alexander, Ed Bradley, Josh Bradley, and Eddie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Roberts, Ricky Roberts, Buck Roberts, and Doug Bradley.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Compassus Hospice, Tammy and Will Smith, and Kasey and Kelsey her Wound Management Specialists.
The family will receive guests from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m. on Saturday prior to the funeral service at the church.
