Hazel Marie Hutchens Casstevens, 94, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025. She was born March 10, 1931 in Yadkin County to the late Lee Hutchens and Minnie Driver Hutchens. Hazel enjoyed cooking, she was most famous for her chicken pie that everyone always enjoyed. She loved spending time with family, but her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gray Casstevens; sister, Betty Jo Williams. She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Andy) Williams; grandchildren, Kayla (Kenny) Bentley, Justin (Malia) Williams; great grandchildren, Reagan Bentley, Harper Bentley, Brooks Williams; sister, Linda Williams, brother, Jimmy Hutchens; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Pilot View Friends Meeting by the Rev. Josh Williams and the Rev. Nelson Puffenbarger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday at Pilot View Friends Meeting. The family would like to thank Clemmons Village II and Trellis Hospice for all the love and care shown to Hazel. Memorials can be made to Pilot View Friends Meeting, 3225 Pilot View Church Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Casstevens family.
