Hazel Dennis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Hazel Dennis, devoted wife of Daniel Dennis, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on July 13, 1966, to Carrie and James Mitchell, Hazel was a pillar of her family and a woman of strong faith.
A graduate of Sussex Central High School in the Indian River School District, Hazel was co-owner of CGLC Consulting and employed with Perdue Farms Inc. in Milford, Delaware. Following her medical leave, she dedicated herself to her family, particularly her grandchildren.
Hazel was known for her love of Chinese buffet, crabs, shopping at Walmart (where she enjoyed "Singapore shopping"), and her unwavering commitment to attending church services at United Deliverance Bible Center. She also enjoyed doing hair on her good days and spending time with her dog, Champ. Her home was a gathering place for family holidays and events, where she would host with love and conclude gatherings with her signature phrase, "It was good to see everybody, now it's time to go."
In the face of a cancer diagnosis earlier this year, Hazel remained steadfast in her faith, praising God until her last breath. She showed love to all she knew and became mother to many. Her desire for her family was that they give their lives to God and serve Him with all their heart and soul. Hazel was preceded in death by her two granddaughters, Angel and Ashanti, and siblings Johnny Arthur, James Henry, Alton Charles, Nixon Charles, Martin Kennedy, Mary Louise, Carolyn Jean, Carrie Marie, Hope Michelle, and great niece, Sasha Oriana. Additionally, Hazel had many siblings, including Arthur, Luther (Annette), Margaret (Robert), Beverly (Stanford), Finishia (Rodney), Faith, as well as special niece, Thomasina (Andrew), along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Hazel is survived by her husband, Daniel; children, Amber Evans and Franchesca Jenkins; bonus children, Ashley, Patrick, Melissa, and Uonta; and 12 grandchildren: Anayah, Shymere, Benjamin, Sa'muary, Nycere, Walter, Cameron, Ha'Zell, Shy'Heim, Princess, Alexis, and William.
