Hazel Fleming Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 19, 2026.
Hazel Fleming, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on March 20, 1934, Hazel lived a life filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.

Hazel was a cherished member of Flat Creek Baptist Church for 32 years, where she actively participated in Bible study and Sunday School. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she found great joy in serving others through her volunteer work. For 15 years, Hazel brought warmth and a welcoming smile to the Piedmont Fayette Gift Shop, where her presence was deeply valued.

She was a loving and devoted mother who faced adversity with strength and grace. After the untimely passing of her first husband, Gene Moore, Hazel raised her two sons with unwavering love and care. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she played a significant role in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Known for her warm and caring nature, Hazel had an authentic and witty spirit that drew people to her. She was always ready with a kind word or a helping hand, embodying the true spirit of generosity and selflessness. Hazel had a particular talent for cooking, and her Thanksgiving dressing was a beloved tradition enjoyed by all who gathered at her table.

In addition to her loving nature, Hazel was a devoted caregiver. She tenderly cared for her second husband, Odell Fleming, for many years before his passing, exemplifying her deep commitment to those she loved.

Hazel was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Moore; her son, Keith Moore; her second husband, Odell Fleming; her brother, Jay Smith; and her sister, Vivian Gable. She is survived by her sons, Steve Moore (Jeannie) and Jay Moore (Jane); her grandchildren, Lindsay Ardillo (Joey), Sam Moore, Bailey Moore (Sydney), Cameron Moore (fiancée Brittney), Ryley Moore, Avery Moore, and Todd Fleming (Aimee); her great-grandchildren, Wyatt Ardillo, Raegan Ardillo, Briggs Moore, Marshall Fleming, Mackenzie Fleming, and Mason Fleming; and her brother, Walter Smith.

A service to honor Hazel's remarkable life will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 2 o'clock at Flat Creek Baptist Church, with Dr. Josh Saefkow officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Flat Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, 161 Flat Creek Trail, Fayetteville, GA 30214

Hazel Fleming's legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering faith will forever be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a lasting impact on her family and community, and she will be dearly missed.
