Hazel Ramsey

Hazel McDaniel Ramsey, 94 of Warm Springs, GA passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, GA.
Mrs. Ramsey was born June 17, 1930, in Buena Vista, GA, the daughter of Emmit Jackson McDaniel and Lillie Mae Pike McDaniel. Her family lived in Mauk, GA and moved to Warm Springs, 1930 after she was born when her father went to work for the Warm Springs Foundation. She graduated from Manchester High School in 1946 and worked for the Warm Springs Foundation for 8 years and later the Fish Hatchery for 28 years. She joined her husband and was the owner operator of Ramsey RV Park until her son Michael purchased the business after her retirement. She was a former mayor and city council member for over eight years for the City of Warm Springs. Mrs. Ramsey was a longtime member of the Warm Springs Baptist Church where she had served as secretary and treasury. She always loved her hometown and everyone that lived there. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne Ramsey, and first husband William Guy Robertson, daughter Theresa Lynn Robertson, brother Emmit Eugene McDaniel and Roy Talmadge McDaniel, and sister Louise Vura.
She is survived by her sons Michael Ramsey and Greg Robertson both of Warm Springs, GA, grandchildren Jennica Rae Ramsey, Samantha Ramsey, Megan Lynn Robertson, and Greg Robertson, Sr. and other extended family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ramsey will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Manchester with Dr. Bob Patterson, officiating the service. A private interment will be held at the Warm Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and immediately following the service at the funeral home.
