Heather Dell

Heather Nicole Dell, 33, passed away Friday, April 21st, 2023 at UnityPoint Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born May 17, 1989, to Harry and Sandra (Zech) Dell (now Newsom) in Des Moines, Iowa.
Despite being diagnosed with autism, Heather graduated from Johnston High School in May 2007 and from Des Moines Area Community College in December 2011 with an associate degree in liberal arts. She worked part-time as a file clerk and accounts payable clerk for Darling International in Des Moines while she attended college.
After college, Heather relocated to Melbourne, Florida, and lived in that vicinity off and on for the next 10 years.
Heather had many interests in her life. She enjoyed writing poetry, working with ceramics, reading, cross-stitching, photography, playing video games, loving her pets, and taking care of her young niece and nephew. Her family was always very important to her.
Heather's family will greatly miss her. Heather is survived by her grandmother, Marlene Zech of Rockwell City, Iowa; her grandmother, Dorothy Sealover of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania; her grandfather, Harry Dell (Joy) of Moore, Oklahoma; her mother, Sandra Newsom (Tom) of Des Moines, Iowa; her father, Harry Dell (Beth) of Wellsville, Pennsylvania; her sister, Rachel Haas (Brook) of Elkhart, Iowa; her brother, Joshua Dell of Denison, Iowa; her sister, Lara (Scott Faine) Newsom of Urbandale, Iowa; her sister, Kelly Newsom of Urbandale, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
Heather's family will greet friends on Sunday, May 7th, 2023, from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Urbandale, Iowa.
During Heather's entire adult life, she wished for a large dog as a companion and friend, but the circumstances were never right. In view of this, memorial contributions may be made to the Furry Friends Refuge.
