Heather Marie Eige

Heather Marie Eige, 45, of Coralville, Iowa and formerly of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
Memorial services for Heather will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. A Celebration of Life will follow at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Heather Brown was born on June 30, 1977 in Marshalltown to Charles P. and Vicki L. (Hilzendeger) Brown. She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1995. After high school, Heather attended Marshalltown Community College to obtain her degree as a Registered Nurse. On July 26, 2003, Heather was united in marriage to Darrin Eige at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marshalltown. Darrin and Heather lived in Marshalltown after marriage and later moved to Iowa City, where they had their three children. Heather also worked as a RN at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for 16 years as well as Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Heather's family was very important to her. She would fiercely protect her family yet had a soft and vulnerable side as well. She loved being a Mom to her three children: Riley, Ethan and Eli. Heather made sure that all of her family could get together a few times each year for family gatherings, with Christmas being her favorite. Heather loved to spoil her children and her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed attending her children's events, whether it was the marching band, cheer leading or show choir events. Heather had a very caring heart, and always wanted to lend a helping hand, so when the tornado and derecho happened, she would gather supplies and come to Marshalltown from Coralville to help with anything she could.
Heather is survived by her husband of 19 years, Darrin and their children: Riley, Ethan and Eli. She is also survived by her father, Charles (Lisa) Brown; siblings: Greg (Tricia) Brown of Gladbrook, Jason (Marcia) Brown of Marshalltown and Joshua (Justin) Brown of Birmingham, Alabama and nieces and nephews: David, Christopher, Patrick, Michaela, Garrett, Justin, Parker and Emmett.
Heather is preceded in death by her mother, Vicki Brown along with her grandmothers, and several aunts and uncles.
