Heather Dawn Carolla Flanegan, age 53, passed away on November 30, 2024, after a courageous battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, surrounded by her family and friends.
Heather was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 9, 1971, to her parents Clarence and Beverly Carolla.
Heather graduated from Carrick High School. She received her Veterinary Technician certification from the Median School of Allied Health Careers. Heather had a fierce love of all animals which was evident in her daily work as a Veterinary Technician. Heather held many positions at several veterinary clinicals, where she thoroughly enjoyed each of her positions and colleagues. Her true passion was working with wildlife as a Deputy State Game Warden, for the Pennsylvania State Game Commission. Heather worked as a Game Warden for 10 years, forming friendships that ended as family, she is known for having "the heart of a Game Warden in which she proved herself time and time again". Heather never backed away from a challenge which is why she thrived as a Deputy Game Warden.
To know Heather was to love Heather, her vibrant smile and contagious laugh lit up every room she entered. Family was the most important part of Heather's life. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and sister-in-law. Heather was a proud mother and volunteered her time over the years with school activities.
Heather was preceded in death by her grandparents Nicholas and Lousia Carolla, and her parents, Clarence Michael Carolla and Beverly Ann Carolla.
She is survived by her husband of 17 years, Shane E. Flanegan, son Sean P. Flanegan; sister, Nicole L. Heenan (Paul E. Shields, DO), nephews who she loved and adored Nico M. Heenan and Gino M. Heenan.
She is survived by her in-laws: John and Charlotte Minda of West Liberty, WV. Brother-in-law: Sean Flanegan (Sabrina Burbanck) of Hampton Roads, VA. Sister-in-law Casey Richardson (Brian) of Warwood, WV. Lifelong loving friends Shannon Bruno, DVM and Saundra Bobnar.
Heather was a proud dog owner and mom of loyal companions Remington (Remi) and Harley who never left her side.
Friends are invited to a service and celebration of life at The Bible Chapel 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray, PA 15317 on Saturday December 14, 2024, at 10:00 am. Lunch will follow the service.
