Heather Lynn Walker (nee Towler) was born May 20th, 1983 in Hazel Crest, Illinois. Surrounded by her family, Heather passed away in Boynton Beach, Florida to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 25, 2025. Heather is survived by her father David Towler, mother Susan Towler (nee Neuber), sister Nichole Roulliac, sister Lauren Fennell, children Landon and Brooklyn Walker, good friend William (Bill) Marin, her Uncle Bruce Neuber and Aunt Wendy Doubet, her beloved dog Wrigley, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Heather was very close to her grandparents Allen and Lois Neuber, who preceded Heather in death.
Heather spent her first few years as a child in Park Forest, Illinois, but the family moved to Richton Park where Heather attended Neil Armstrong School from kindergarten thru 8th grade. After the family moved to Frankfort in 1997, Heather attended Lincoln-Way High School in New Lenox, and ultimately graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hospitality Management. Upon graduating from Eastern, Heather moved to Florida where she was always attracted to the ocean, the beaches, and most important – the warm weather. Heather eventually married and had two children – Landon and Brooklyn.
Growing up as a child Heather excelled in just about everything from academics, sports, fishing, etc. Heather specifically excelled in gymnastics, where after breaking her arm at the age of 7 – she ended up on a club team that traveled to meets as far as Arizona. Heather made the varsity team at Lincoln-Way as a freshman, and went on to place high in the uneven bars, which ironically was how she broke her arm at age 7. She loved dogs – Hillary (our first family dog), Roxanne, and perhaps her favorite was Kasia that she had in college and when she first moved to Florida.
Heather attended Spanish River Church in Boca Raton Florida. Heather was involved with several different non-profit organizations in Florida including Wheels from The Heart – an organization that donates vehicles to single mothers, and also with Operation Underground Railroad, an organization that helps rescue women from sex trafficking. Heather, for many years, was supported by and cared for by her close friend Bill Marin. Her family is forever grateful for Bill.
Heather was a huge Chicago Cubs fan, and at one time arranged for her son Landon to sit behind the Cubs dugout at a game, and meet the owner Tom Ricketts who provided Landon with an autographed baseball and took a picture with Landon. Heather also was able to meet with and do marketing work for Fergie Jenkins – a Chicago Cub Hall of Fame Baseball pitcher.
Heather was passionate about the work she did with the non-profits. She was an advocate for women business owners.
The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way, Frankfort, IL on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00 pm until the time of Memorial Service at 3:00 pm.
