Jerry Dietz 84 of Hickory Hills passed away Monday morning May 9 th, peacefully with family at his side. Beloved and devoted husband of the Elaine (nee Mercurio) for 59 years. Loving father of Diane (Patrick), and Steve (Cheryl). Loving Grandfather of Lauren, Erin, Kaitlyn, Sophia, and Samantha. Dear brother of the late Dolores, Joseph, and Jean and brother-in-law Maria Morano. Fond Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Jerry loyally served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was very active in his community serving as a Commissioner of The Roberts Park Fire Department for over 35 years. He was actively involved in the parish of St. Patricia and delivered "Meals on Wheels" and a dedicated employee of Illinois Bell for over 40 years. Visitation Thursday from 3PM to 9PM at The Palos Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 S. Southwest Hwy (7700 W) Palos Hills. Funeral Friday 9:00 am from the funeral home to St Patricia's Catholic Church for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial.
