Hector (Butch) S. Gonzalez, 82, of Kingsville, TX, passed away peacefully at his daughter's home on October 7, 2025 surrounded by the love of his wife and family.

Born on August 4, 1943, in Bishop, TX, to Antonia Suarez, Hector was a wonderful son, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle. He was beloved by all of his family and Family was everything to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother Antonia Suarez Benavides, his step father Jose G. Benavides, his brothers Ramiro Suarez and Victor Muniz, and his sister Edna Mireles. He leaves behind his cherished wife Sulema G. Gonzales of Kingsville, TX, and his loving children, Hector Gonzalez Jr. (Carmen), of Kingsville, TX, and daughters Sandra Salazar (Michael), and Pamela Sue Rangel (Raymond) of San Antonio, TX.

He was a beloved Grandfather to his 7 grand -daughters, Hailey, Lindsey, Emily, Olivia, Ava, Bella and Caris and his only great-grandson, Venture who all affectionately called him "Popo".

Hector was a proud brother to Maria Villarreal of San Antonio, and Jose H. Benavides (Maria) of Kingsville, TX. His legacy also extends to his many nieces and nephews that he loved as well as his many friends whose lives were touched by his generous spirit and kindness that he showed to all.

Hector joined the Army in 1960 followed by serving time in the National Guard and Army Reserves and was a Staff Sergeant. He was also a respected businessman in his community of Kingsville and owned and operated Butch's Paint and Body Shop on 6th street for over 40 years until his retirement. He loved to travel with his wife and read and spend time with his family above all. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive condolences on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary. A memorial rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on October 13, 2025, at St. Gertrude the Great Catholic Church in Kingsville, Texas; with a memorial mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Janie and Faustino Reyes for their compassionate care, love and support during Hector's final days.
