Helen Augustyn Obituary

Helen dedicated 28 years of service to the New Jersey Department of Corrections, where her commitment to her work was evident to all who knew her. She retired with the respect and admiration of her colleagues. After her retirement Helen enjoyed traveling to Europe and doing charitable work with several local organizations.
She is survived by her loving son, Christopher Augustyn, and daughter-in-law, Janet Riley. Helen was a cherished grandmother to Ian (Ashley) Riley and Wyatt (MacKenzie) Riley. She will be fondly remembered by her nephew, Tom (Gloria) Gadecki, and their children, Anthony and Angela. Helen was predeceased by her son Richard J. Riley, Jr., her parents Joseph and Susie Caken, and her sister and brother-in-law Margaret (Edward) Gadecki.
Helen's legacy of kindness and gentle grace will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 8:30am-10:00am at Murphy Funeral Home, 1863 Hamilton Ave, Hamilton, NJ 08619. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 am at St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, 3500 South Broad Street, Hamilton, NJ 08610. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ.
