Helen Mary Bajus, 91, of Mannington, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at St. Barbara's Nursing Home in Monongah. She was born December 4, 1930 in Creighton, PA, a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Horchicuk Gabor.
Helen was a telephone operator for C & P Telephone in Fairmont and Cleveland, OH, and was also employed by Marion Manufacturing in Idamay. Helen loved reading and gardening and was very good at playing bridge, belonging to two bridge clubs in Mannington. She attended the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont while she was able.
While in Cleveland, she met her husband of 17 years, John H. Bajus, who was a loving husband and father. He passed away at age 41 on October 7, 1970.
Survivors include her 6 children: Susan Bajus, Cleveland, Paula Bajus (Jeff) Comfort, Morgantown, (her twins) John (Sandra) Bajus, Fairmont and Marty Bajus, Mannington, Michael Bajus, Mannington, and Thomas Bajus, Barrackville. She loved being a grandmother to her 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister: Irene Conner, FL; 2 brothers: Frank and Marty Gabor, Idamay; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Steve, Paul, and John Gabor.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Barbara's Nursing Home for their care, and Kellie and Cindy Bajus for their attention and love given to Helen through the years.

Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home, 500 E. Main St., Mannington on Friday from 2-8 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Matt Holbert officiating. Burial will follow at the IOOF Cemetery in Farmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of choice. The family also requests that masks be worn. www.hutsonfuneralhomes.com
