Helen Beechler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eickhoff Funeral Home on Oct. 23, 2025.
Helen Carol Beechler, age 80 of Bronson, MI passed away on October 22, 2025 in Kalamazoo after a long illness. She was born in Coldwater, MI on April 24, 1945 the daughter of Wendell and Wilma (Pelmear) Carpenter. Helen attended Bronson High School and was part of the 1963 graduating class. Following graduation, she would attend Glen Oaks Community College. She also enrolled in some college courses and was one credit shy from completing pilot school. On December 29, 1984 in Kentucky, Helen would marry the love of her life, Michael Beechler.

Helen worked at Bronson Plastics, sold Avon products, sold tiara glassware, ran a bait shop and a second-hand store; all the while raising many children. She was an avid reader, and if the book was about romance or action, she could finish it in one day. Helen was known for her canning abilities, canning fruits, veggies, and meats for her family from the family garden. it is a legendary tale that Helen's aim with a .22 toward a walnut tree is nothing less than impressive. When she was finally able to sit down and relax, country and gospel music would be playing; a strong reminder of her faith in the Lord. Needless to say, Helen lived a full and exciting life, but nothing made her life more complete, than her family, especially her grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael Beechler; five children; Angelique (Don) Scheich, Gina Martin, Michael (Gina) Rumsey, Paul (Catrina) Rumsey, and Michael (Sarah) Beechler; fifteen grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister Donna (Joe) Griffin; sister-in-law Judy Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, and extended families. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Wendell and Wilma Carpenter; her step father Paul Weidler; her brother Ken Carpenter; and her daughter Leah Rumsey.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation is being conducted. A Celebration of Life will be held at Agape Center Ministries (43 S. Hudson St., Coldwater, MI 49036) on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 5pm. It is suggested that donations made in Helen's name be directed to her family. Condolences and memories may be expressed to her family at eickhofffuneralhome.com
