Helen Isabell Black Christensen, 90, passed away Oct 30th, 2025 in Farmington.
Helen was born June 4, 1935 in Holden, Utah to LeGrand Black and Beulah Elizabeth Nixon. She graduated with the last class at Hinckley High School in 1953 and attended Utah State University for a short time before working at Dugway Proving Grounds in Tooele. She married Sheldon Earl "Chris" Christensen September 14th, 1956 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
Helen was a past member of the Bountiful Jaycees and worked retail most of her life starting at Keith O'Briens in Bountiful. After the death of her husband in 1986 she began working at Lakeview Hospital as the Administrative Assistant to the Chief Nursing Officer where she retired in 2000. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many callings, including Primary, Young Women's, Relief Society and Scouting. She served several years working double shifts at the Bountiful Temple where she met many wonderful, lifelong friends whom she loved going to lunch with.
She was a natural gatherer, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Christmas Eve parties and Christmas morning breakfast were some things she always looked forward to. She loved to travel and had visited Mexico and Hawaii and went on numerous cruises with her sister, Geri. She also loved touring with her friends Don and Cherie Morris. She loved watching her grandkids participate in their activities, whether football, soccer or dance, she was their best fan. She loved watching a good sporting event and was an avid fan of Utah Gymnastics, spending many seasons in the stands watching the Red Rocks. After being alone for 39 years she is finally reunited with her husband and won't have to go home alone again.
She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in laws, Clay S & Debbie, West Bountiful and Earl L & Tammy, Layton. 6 amazing Grandkids, Kirk, Sean, Staci, Amber, Zachary and Shelly and 11 wonderful great-grandchildren. 2 sisters, Elizabeth Ryan, and Barbara Thomas, Brother-in-Law Doug Allred, and Sister-in-Law Merie Black.
