H. Louise (Young) Cressler, 93, of Jennings, KS passed away on Dec. 1, 2025 at the Andbe Home in Norton, KS. Louise was born on Sept. 27, 1932 in the home north of Jennings to Eugene and Ruth (Stacey) Young.
Louise grew up in Jennings and graduated from Jennings High School. She would marry Wayne Cressler on June 4, 1950 in Hoxie and they made their home in Jennings where they lived for over 60 years in the same house. Wayne and Louise were blessed with seven children. Louise was active in the community. She was the correspondent for the Jennings news in Oberlin, Norton, and Sheridan County papers from 2004 until her passing, she was the assistant postal clerk, and served on the City Council for 25 years, and she was also the Treasurer at the Jennings United Methodist Church until recently when ill health prevented her from being active.
Louise is survived by six children: Sharon (Mike) Gaston of Ames, IA, Theresa (Charles) Spresser of Calhoun, TN, Patsy (Don) Harold of Grand Junction, CO, Gwen (Jeff) Anderson of Angelus, KS, Eugenia (Don) Tetreault of Hilton, NY, and Russell (Mary) Cressler of rural Jennings, KS; 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents, husband: Wayne Cressler; son: Robert Cressler; granddaughter: Christina Louise; sisters: Leotha Bohl and Charlotte Huber; brother: Lowell Young.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the Jennings United Methodist Church at 11:00AM. Burial will be in Jennings Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made out to Jennings United Methodist Church. Condolence can be left at www.plumergobber.com.
