Helen K. (Kubis) Danchik
Age 91, on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, of Carrick. Beloved wife of the late George Danchik for 56 years. Daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Marsalek) Kubis. Loving Mother of Kenneth (Dr. Lisa Pawelski) Danchik, Mary Ann (Donald) Mient, Kevin (Toni) Danchik, Karen (Andrew) Schubert and the late Kathleen and Ronald Danchik. Loving Grandmother of Emily, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Megan, Matthew, Rachel, Gina, George, and Christine. Sister of Ann Kolski. For many years Helen was cafeteria manager for St. Basil Elementary School. Prior to becoming a mother and housewife, she worked at The York Shop in Downtown Pittsburgh, and at F.W. Woolworth Co., Mt. Oliver. Helen enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friends. Although declining health forced her to move to a retirement community in O'Hara, she never lost affection for her Laughlin Avenue home in Carrick where she lived for over 60 years, and for the many generations of friends that she warmly embraced. A woman of deep Catholic faith and prayer, she maintained close ties with the St. Basil Parish Community. Visitations Wednesday 3-8 PM at the Boron Funeral Home Inc. 1719 Brownsville Road. Funeral Prayers Thursday at 10 AM. Mass of Christian Burial in Blessed Trinity Parish, St. Basil Church at 10:30 AM.
