Helen Driver Obituary
Helen Gray Oakey Driver, 86 of Elm City passed away Friday, November 29, 2024. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Johnnie Hendrix will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, December 3, 2024, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Helen is survived by her sons, James Driver and wife, Cheryl of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dicky Driver and wife, Kim of Talladega, Alabama, and Dexter Driver and wife, Lora of Pinetops; daughters, Rebecca Gardner and husband, Bryan of Macclesfield, and Tonya Bouldin and husband, John of Rocky Mount; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Owens of Tarboro, Nancy Webb of Macclesfield, and Frances Pipkin of Wilson, and her brothers, Billy Oakey of Wilson and James Oakey of Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Maggie Oakey; brothers, Pete Oakey, William “Dick” Oakey, and Bobby Oakey; sisters, Shirley Askew and Mary Pipkin; granddaughter, Mary Alice Driver, and her great-grandson, Titus Schap.
