Joyner's Funeral HomeDavid “Tommy” Thomas Griffin, Sr., 79, of Wilson passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, at Joyner’s Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Wilson. Rev. Donnie Williams will officiate.
The family receive friends Monday afternoon from 1 – 1:45 p.m. at Joyner’s Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson.
Tommy was a hard-working man; he worked at Bridgestone for twenty-five years and had a towing and trucking business. Tommy enjoyed racing and hunting. He served his Lord faithfully and was a member of Calvery Pentecostal Holiness Church for fifty-one years. Tommy loved his family and friends with his whole heart, and he will be dearly missed and thought of often with wonderful memories.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rachel Ann Carlisle Griffin; son, David Thomas Griffin, Jr. and wife, Karen Lynn of Buckeye, Arizona; daughters, Shelia G. Allen and husband, Joseph Eric of Mocksville, and Lisa Watson of Virgina; grandchildren, Tyler Charles Griffin, Peyton Elizabeth Robosky, Kirstie Ranea Haskins, Tyler Joe Allen and Christopher Griffin, and his great-grandchildren, Bella Francis Griffin, Sofia Alexin Griffin, and Cutter Charles Griffin, and his fur baby, Sassie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Griffin and Meta Bell Bissette; sisters, Ann Best and Faye Griffin, and his nephew, Robert “Bob” Johnson.
Flowers are welcome or consider memorials in Tommy’s memory to Calvary Pentecostal Church, PO Box 7488, Wilson, North Carolina 27895.
