Helen Hebert Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McLin Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Jan. 13, 2026.
Helen King Hebert, born on December 5, 1945, in Boise, Idaho, passed away on January 8, 2026, at her home in Walker, Louisiana. A beloved member of her family and community, Helen dedicated her life to nurturing those around her.

Helen graduated from Live Oak High School and went on to make a long-lasting impact in her professional life as a Unit Secretary at SAGE Hospice, where she was affectionately known as "Momma Helen" by her coworkers. With an exemplary work ethic, she earned many awards throughout her career, but her greatest pride was derived from her family.

Helen was a devoted mother to her three sons, Felix, Tracy, and the late Daryl Johnson. She enjoyed a warm relationship with her daughters-in-law, Dana Johnson and Michelle Johnson. As a grandmother, Helen was a guiding light in the lives of her grandchildren: Ashley Runions (Nate), Jordan Taylor Johnson, Madison Reeves (Michael), Forest Johnson (Shelby), Hunter Johnson, Haley Guffey (Jeffery), Mackenzie Watts (Brennan), Brennon Johnson (Megan), Matthew Johnson, Collin Johnson (Sydney), Marley Raddatz (Todd), Audrey Johnson, Mia Thornburg (Brayden), Gracyn Johnson, Macey Johnson, Reese Johnson, and Mabrey Johnson. She embraced the joy of watching her grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren grow into remarkable individuals and cherished every moment spent with them.

Helen is preceded in death by: Amedee King Sr. (Father), Lucille Rutledge King (Mother), Felix

Johnson, Sr. (Spouse) ,UJ Hebert (Spouse), Daryl Johnson (Son), Pat King (Brother), and Earl King (Brother)

In her leisure time, Helen indulged in her passion for shopping and collecting antiques, which brought her immense joy. She treasured every moment she was able to spend with her brothers and sisters, Ellen Hoaas, Amedee "Jim" King, and Ruth Grimmer. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she loved hosting her Christmas Eve party for her entire family. She poured her heart into her garden, taking great care of her plants, a pursuit that reflected her nurturing nature. She found peace and community in her faith, regularly attending church services and maintaining a fervent prayer life-if she knew you at all, you can bet you were on her prayer list. Furthermore, her devotion extended to her beloved dogs, whom she spoiled with love and care.

Helen was filled with a contagious spirit of joy despite enduring unimaginable loss and heartbreak throughout her adult life. Anyone who spent any amount of time with her quickly came to understand that this joy was not fake or forced, but came directly from the unfaltering faith she had in God's eternal plan, and she will forever be remembered in the hearts of her family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Helen's visitation at Christ's Community Church in Denham Springs, Louisiana, on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 9:30 AM until the religious service, conducted by Pastor Felix Johnson, Jr., begins at 11:30 AM. Burial will immediately follow in Palmetto Cemetery.

My sweet Helen we have worked together for 17 years and I was so blessed to call you my Sage BFF. I will miss our early morning coffee convo that we had every day where we would talk about God and our families. Your were our bright ray of sunshine every day I was so blessed to know you and you left an everlasting imprint on our hearts. We shared a bond of losing our sons and we would talk often when we would be reunited in heaven with them one day. I know your heart is whole now being reunited with little Darryl who you loved beyond words. Thank you my Helen for bringing me joy every day I came to work I will never forget you and I know you are our guardian angel. I love you beyond words rest in peace my sweet friend.
