Mary Cupit Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home - Denham Springs on Aug. 13, 2025.
Mary Booth Cupit Mary, age 78, entered into Heaven on Sunday, August 10, 2025. She was a resident of Watson, Louisiana. Mary graduated from Live Oak High School in 1965 then attended Southeastern Louisiana University for 2 years. She went on to spend 26 years working for the Louisiana Department of Education. Mary was a long-time member of Amite Baptist Church and was baptized there at only 12 years old. One thing about Mary was that she was a Steel Magnolia. She was the best single mother to her daughter Ashley and gave her the best life she could ask for. Mary loved sitting on her porch with her family and friends, riding around in her car visiting and seeing what was going on in Watson, reading the Advocate and Denham Springs Newspapers, talking to her loved ones on the phone, and most importantly, spending time with those she loved. Mary is survived by her daughter, Ashley Andrews and husband Billy; grandson, Austin Andrews; grandpuppy, Paco; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Marguerite Booth; special aunt and uncle, Vennie and Effie Impson; sister, Gayle Mitchell and brother in law, Kenneth Mitchell; and friends, Earl Wayne Roy, Kerry Oneal, Peggy Chandler, Roy Allen, and Joslyne Marks. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home 7738 Florida Blvd. Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 1:30 p.m. The service will be officiated by Pastor Johnny Morgan. Interment will follow at Amite Baptist Church Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Crossing employees, Clarity Hospice Employees, and specifically Wendi, Jamie, Joyce, and Carla for their care to Mary during this time. Her friends and family, Patricia Allen, Paula Meadors, Barbara Childres, Frances Cambre, Dawn Guidry, Jo Kay Timmons, Mickie Marchiafava, Wayne Wascom, Roxanne Street, Warren Curtis, and Claudette Andrews have been a village in these last days and it will never be forgotten. Condolences and other information may be found at www.thompsoncares.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home.
