Helen Jeanette (Habel) Komorowski, age 82, Suamico, died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 24, 2025. She was born on September 21,1942 in Chilton, Texas to Charlie and Lillie Habel.
Helen grew up in Chilton, Texas where she attended Lorena Elementary, Marlin School and University High in Waco, Texas. Helen was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical and Reform Church where she also taught Sunday school. Prior to being married, she worked as a secretary.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Robert "Bob" Joseph Komorowski, who passed away just three months prior. They would have celebrated 59 years of marriage this year.
Helen met her husband, Bob, while he was stationed in Texas with the Air Force. The first time she saw him, she thought he was a priest by the way he was dressed. She soon found out differently! Prior to getting married, Helen joined the Catholic Church. Helen and Bob were married on May 7th, 1966, in Waco, Texas.
After they married, they moved back to Wisconsin where Bob was from. Helen stayed at home raising their 5 children. She also provided in home daycare over the years. After their children were grown, she worked at Teddy Bear Daycare in Suamico until she retired. After retirement and Bob's Alzheimer's progressed, she became his caretaker until he required more care.
Gardening, fishing, sewing, scrapbooking, and bowling were some of her favorite hobbies. She loved making quilts for her family. In her later years you would always find her watching her favorite television station, MeTV. Helen loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to spend time with them when she could. Seeing pictures and videos of them brightened her day.
Helen's faith was extremely important to her. She was a member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Suamico, Wisconsin for 59 years. She was the religious education coordinator, taught religious education classes, and was involved in the lay ministry program. Helen and Bob both enjoyed volunteering for St. Vincent De Paul until their health declined.
Helen loved her family dearly. She had a huge heart for children and attended as many sporting games and events for her children and grandchildren as she was able to.
Helen enjoyed a good Tom Collins and loved to dance with Bob. Before they married, they would go to dance halls in Texas where they would two-step and waltz. Her brother Charles played in a band and they would often go dancing where he performed. After they were married, they joined a square dance club. They also took advantage of any weddings to display their dance moves.
Helen is survived by daughters Terri Hogan (Matt), Patti Alicea (Joe); Kathy Argumedo; Mary Alsteen (Bill); son Robert Jr.; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
