Helen Louise (Bowman) Krout, 87, passed away Saturday August 31, 2024 in Crawfordsville.
Helen was born December 28, 1936 in Wallace, IN, the daughter of Nelson Daniel and Bessie (Lowery) Bowman. She married Keith Owen Krout on December 2, 1952 in Crawfordsville.
Surviving family includes daughters Debra (Homer) Faucett, Hillsboro; Cindy Urgo, Crawfordsville; a son Randy (LaVonda) Krout, Williams, IN; six grandchildren, Travis (Heather) Krout, Todd (Jennifer) Krout, Homer lll (Emily) Faucett, Andrea Faucett, Angela (Andy) Hoaks, Brent (Keli) Richardson; six great-granddaughters, Kaitlin Krout, Paityn Krout, Samantha Krout, Madelyn Krout, Kaylee Richardson, and MacKenzie Hoaks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her favorite uncle Alva Bowman, her sister Grace Cates, and brothers Nelson Jr. and Denny.
Helen attended Wallace schools. She was a TIG welder, certified by Pratt-Whitney, with parts she welded going into space on the Space Shuttle. She retired from Danville Metal Stamping.
Helen was a member of the Marshall Federated Church, the John Wallace chapter of DAR, and the Hubnuts camping group. She loved cooking and baking, spending time with her family, and annual fishing trips to Northern Minnesota.
Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday September 6, 2024 at Dickerson Funeral Home in Veedersburg with Pastor Brian Holt officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 Noon Friday at Dickerson Funeral Home and continue until the time of service. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Marshall Federated Church. Online condolences at www.dickersonfuneralhome.com
