Helen M. (Kubasek) Boynton, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 3, 2026, after a brief illness. Helen was born in Northampton, to the late John and Anna (Molitoris) Kubasek. Helen was educated in local schools, graduating from Northampton High School. She married Ernest (Ernie) Boynton Jr. in 1957 and they settled in Florence for 40 years until Ernie’s death in 1997. Helen moved to Easthampton in 2013.
She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for various hotels and restaurants in the area. Even after retirement she used her extensive bookkeeping experience for good, volunteering at Highland Valley Elder Services. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Northampton. Even into her later years, Helen enjoyed gardening and kept pots of herbs, tomatoes and flowers on her deck.
Helen leaves her daughters, Patricia Boynton and Susan Boynton of Easthampton and her sister, Ann Skowronek also of Easthampton, as well as many nieces and nephews. Helen was especially close with her nieces Dolores Kubasek, Dana Kubasek, Jane Nathan and Donna LeBlanc.
Helen was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ernie and her siblings, John, Andrew and Joseph Kubasek, and Katherine Latka.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at AHEARN FUNERAL HOME, 783 Bridge Rd., Northampton from 10 am to 11 am with a Religious Service at the Funeral Home at 11 am. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery will be in the spring.
Donations in Helen’s memory may be made to Easthampton Community Center or Easthampton Senior Center/ECOA.
