Helen Lee passed away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 89 in her home of 50 years in
Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Born in Buckingham County, Virginia on April 4, 1936, to parents Edward and Lottie Savage.
Predeceased by beloved husband Charles for over 70 years.
Predeceased by brothers and sisters Roland Savage, Herman Savage, Shirley Mace, Hal Savage and Barbara Stephens. Also predeceased by granddaughter Madison Jordan.
Loving mother of Brenda Every, Charles Lee, Jr., Wanda (Mike) Spencer, and Gwen (Jimmy) Jordan. Proud Grandmother of Alecia (Hayley) McClean, Nick (Kiernan) Lee, Morgan Spencer, Alex and Ashley Jordan.
For 20 years Helen traveled the countryside beside her beloved husband while he served his country. From Langley Air Force Base to Wimpole Park, England, on to Andrews AFB in Washington DC for the next four years. Then to Tachikawa AFB, Japan from 1964-1968. She then found Florida when they were stationed in Panama City at Tyndall Air Force Base from 1968-1971. This is when she first visited a cousin in Fort Walton Beach and they decided they would return there after retirement. In 1971 they went north to Kinchelow AFB in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Mom wondered if Dad got in trouble to cause us to move to that cold country. They retired in Fort Walton Beach the summer of 1975 and bought their home on Lula Belle Lane where she was until she passed.
Helen had several passions. First and foremost was her love of shoes as she had more than 100 pairs, several of the same style just different colors. She loved her bowling which she started leagues in Japan in 1965. She was recognized for 43 years of dedicated serves as League Secretary of ECUSBC. Her and her friends traveled to many states for their national tournaments. Her final love was the game of Pinochle where she organized weekly games for over 40 years.
