Helen Mae Jones Sumner

Mrs. Helen Mae Jones Sumner was born on December 13, 1945 to Everett Neal Jones and Virginia "Vergie" Barber Jones in Carroll County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard "Tommy" Sumner, sister, Shirley Bunn, and brothers, Frank Jones, and Junior Jones, and sister-in-law, Darlene Sumner. Her sunny disposition and giving heart touched everyone she met. She spent over 20 years in a job she loved working at Waddell Nursing Home. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Sumner Williams, and husband, Ronnie of Hillsville, VA; granddaughters, McKenna Moore and wife, Christine of Rochester, Michigan, Heather Lanter and husband, Doug of Hillsville, VA; grandson, Keith Williams and wife, Shannon also of Hillsville, VA; brothers-in-law, Grey Bunn of Hillsville, VA and Tony Burcham of Fries, VA; great grandchildren, Keegan Lanter, Noelle Drain, and Chandler Williams. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Helen's wishes were to have no services.
