With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Aunt Lorraine, Helen L. Mankowski (DeLaurentis), who died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 after a very brief illness. She left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her and will be missed by her nieces, nephews, caretakers, and those that knew her.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews Joanne Strack (Ron), Petrina Sichak (Dave); Vincent DeFlavia (Laura), Mike DeFlavia (Tony), John Michael DeLaurentis (Bernadette), Andrew DeFlavia (Rochelle), other extended family, and her lifetime friend Grace.
Born in Philadelphia on February 23, 1940, Helen was a long-time resident of Berwyn. She had a great fondness for Philadelphia where she built a career as a banker marked by professionalism and an unwavering commitment to her colleagues and customers. She loved the performing arts and could often be found attending performances at local theaters and concert halls, losing herself in the beauty of opera, ballet, and classical music that brought her deep joy.
Having been predeceased by her husband Ron since 1990, at home she found companionship and comfort in her beloved cats who were constant fixtures by her side and brought her great happiness. She also loved to travel.
Her family is grateful for her caretakers at Chandler Hall in
Newtown, PA where she spent the last nine years. The grace, compassion, and care they showed gave solace to her family who are spread across the United States.
Though she has left this world, her family will cherish fond memories including her spirited personality and many Easter brunches which she loved to host.
Honoring her wishes, she will be cremated and interred at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
