Helen Meece, 73, passed away March 25, 2025 in Somerset, Kentucky.

Helen was born July 18, 1951 in Waynesburg, Kentucky to Everett H. and Arlie Eldridge Vanover. She was a 1969 graduate of Memorial High school in Waynesburg and graduated from Sullivan University in 1971 with an Accounting Degree. Helen was a long time employee of First and Farmers National Bank where she had many different roles over the years and from which she retired. She enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking trips, especially the many bus trips she took with her sisters over the years. Helen was devoted to her family and she loved to spend time with them but, her greatest joy was her grand children who she loved dearly. She was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church where she was an active member.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son, Gilbert Arlis Burdine (Julie McWhirter), her three grand Children; Haven Burdine, Gunner Burdine and Sera Burdine, sisters; Gladys Allen, Dorothy Ann (Mike) Butt, brother in Law, Gershen Hall, four nieces, Arlena (Jeremy) McFarland, Benita Jo (Terry) Hall Conder, Kaye Bletso, and Janet Mann, nephews; Michael Paul Hall, Nicholas Butt, and Dewight Allen, her two special cousins, Ina and Mitchell Sumner, as well as her friend who was like family, Mary Lou Daulton.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Gilbert Burdine as well as her second husband Dewey Meece, three sisters; Ethel Hall, Alice Mae Vanover and Irene Eldridge.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Morris and Hislope Funeral Home at 12:30 PM with Bro. Jamie Taylor officiating.

Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM till 8:00 PM in the chapel of Morris and Hislope Funeral Home.
