Helen Scallions Page, 93, of
Newbern, Tennessee, went to Heaven on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Monday, November 16, 1931, in Maury City, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Bud Scallions and the late Maie Bell Midgett Scallions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Page; her son, Phil Hicks; her bonus daughter, Ruth Page Woodall; her son-in-law, Eddie King; her grandson, Timothy Hicks; and her 7 brothers and sisters: Carl Scallions, Jake Scallions, Alvin Scallions, Talmar Murphy, Ruth Whiteside, Brigham Scallions, and Earl Scallions. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters – Lisa Page King of Ridgely, TN, and Kathryn McLain (Steve) of Azel, TX; three bonus children – Roger Page (Carole) of
Newbern, TN, Rudy Page (Kim) of
Newbern, TN and Rita Smith of Memphis, TN; twelve grandchildren – Curt West (Andra), Danielle Millett (Mark), Greg West (Laura Beth), Michaela Singley (Steven), Jonathan Hicks, Clinton Hicks, Alycia Solomon (Mike), Roger Wayne Page (Jeannie), Michael Page (Jessica), Dillon King, Jessica Klauck (Justin), and Jonna Beth King; and twenty-five amazing great grandchildren who were so precious to her.
Mrs. Helen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, devotion to the Lord and to her family. She was a strong woman of God and an active member of First Baptist Church in Newbern. Her love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life, and she served as a shining example of Christian love and devotion. She touched the lives of many with her warmth, generosity and kindness. Helen dedicated several years of her career to Trimble Manufacturing before transitioning into clerical work, where she assisted her bonus sons in their farming operations. She was also a remarkable cook who took joy in preparing meals for her loved ones and creating countless memories around the table. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she was immensely proud of each and every member.
To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as "Nanny" - a term of endearment that soon became widespread among friends and loved ones alike. Her warmth and kindness were infectious, making everyone feel like family in her presence.
In the later months of her life, Mrs. Helen became a resident of Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg, where she formed a special bond with four fellow residents. Together, they became known as "The Golden Girls of Oakwood," a testament to the friendship and joy she continued to bring to those around her.
Visitation for Mrs. Helen will be held on Wednesday from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM at Johnson- Williams Funeral Home in
Newbern, TN. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM following visitation at Pierce Cemetery in Trimble, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Pastor Greg Jordan. Honoring Mrs. Helen as pallbearers will be Rudy Page, Grant West, Curt West, Steven Singley, Mark Millett, and Joey Carolin.
Mrs. Helen, "Nanny," will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. While her physical presence may be gone, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
