Helen Page Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Helen Mae Page was born on February 7th 1942 in St. Paul NE to Thorvald and Alice Jacobsen. The 5th of 6 children she was often exploring her surroundings with wonder and protected by her older siblings. She was an excellent student and enjoyed competing in fairs as part of 4-H.
She went to Kearney State Teachers college and graduated to become a teacher moving to York, Ne to pursue her career.
In May of 1968, she met her future husband Leon Page and they were married in October of that same year. In 1969 they welcomed their first child, Stacy into their home, and shortly thereafter moved to Lincoln Ne. 3 years later, their son Brent was born in Lincoln, Ne.
Helen worked for the US postal service in later years and then was very active as part owner of Page's Produce in Valparaiso, NE. She operated the country store and attended farmers markets in and around the Lincoln area for over 20 years.
Helen took great joy in life's simple pleasures and loved interacting with young children. She loved to read stories and helped infuse the same wonder over life's simple pleasures and treasures that she valued. Her grandchildren brought tremendous joy to her and nothing brought more joy to parents than sharing pictures of their children with her knowing an enthusiastic "that's so sweet"!! Would answer in return.
Devotion to her husband through any trial, devotion to reading her Bible, devotion to her kids and grandkids were where Helen exhibited her greatest strength. She had an iron core of determination and perseverance that any person should endeavor to have.
She will be missed more than any words could ever express. The sweet smile, the kindness, the gentleness, and the exuberance of showing you one of life's simple treasures will never be duplicated.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Tom and Lawrence Jacobsen, sister Ellen Ann Campbell, father and mother-in-law, Louis and Pearl Page, brother-in-law, Larry Page, sister-in-law, Luaine Harper, brother-in-law Roy Kendall, nephews Bill Campbell, Steve Jacobsen and Derek Jacobsen and niece Sherrie Harper.
Helen is survived by her husband Leon Page, sisters Evelyn Winnegar (husband Bill Winnegar), Margaret Kendall, daughter Stacy Ferguson, son-in-law, Jason Ferguson, grandsons, Drew and Joseph Ferguson, son, Brent Page, daughter-in-law, Latonia Page, grandsons, Elijah and Judah Page, granddaughter, Georgia Page, and numerous nieces and nephews that were a very important part of her family.
