Randy Scott passed away October 5,2025 at Green Senior Living in Seward, Nebraska.
He was born August 31,1947 to Howard and Billie Scott of Callaway. He had one brother, Bob of Flagler Beach, Florida.
Randy was married to Nancy Scroggin which bore one son, Steve of Grand Island and one adopted daughter Darcy of Kearney. Later he married the late Connie Crow and had one son Landon of Dorchester.
Randy had seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren which he loved dearly
Randy graduated from Callaway High School and attended Milford Technical school in auto mechanics. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Army where he was stationed in Fort Campbell, Ky and Fort Meade, MD as a UH-1 crew chief. He volunteered to go to Vietnam where he served in G Company, 701st Helicopter Maintenance, 1st Infantry Division flying on numerous helicopter rescue and support missions.
He returned from Vietnam in 1970 and moved to Gothenburg where he worked various jobs before he became the maintenance man at the Gothenburg Grain Mill. He then moved to the Dawson County Road Maintenance department where he Maintained 80 miles of gravel roads.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025, 1;00-7:00 PM at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE with the family present from 4:00-6:00 PM.
Graveside services will be held, 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, NE.
Lieu in flowers memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Randy Scott, please visit our floral store.
