Helen Charline Phillips

Helen Charline Phillips, age 98, of Plainfield passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in her residence. She was born in Jasonville, Indiana, to the late Etheline Marguerite Shepard Wright. She married John Samuel Phillips on June 19, 1949, at West Christian Church in Indianapolis; they celebrated 74 years of marriage before John's passing in 2023. She received her Bachelors and Master’s degrees from Butler University in education and was a 5th grade teacher at Central Elementary in Plainfield for 21 years. She was a member of Plainfield Christian Church, Hendricks County Retired Teachers Association and the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

John and Helen enjoyed traveling where they visited all 50 states and 34 countries.

She is survived by her daughter Gail Phillips

Memorial visitation will take place on Friday February 27, 2026 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 2 p.m. at Plainfield Christian Church with Luke Proctor officiating. Private inurnment will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery columbarium.
