Helen M. Powers Wieczorek, age 81, of Horicon, died on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Marvin's Manor. The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Horicon on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 6:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Horicon on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Mike Petrie officiating. Burial will be at St. Malachy Cemetery in Horicon. The former Helen Mary Schnell was born on September 8, 1933 in Horicon, Wisconsin to David and Dolores (Calenberg) Schnell. On May 7, 1955 she was united in marriage to Horace Powers. To this union, four children were born; Patricia, Mary, Jim, and Dave. Horace preceded her in death in 1976. She later was united in marriage with Gene Wieczorek on September 17, 1988. This increased the family by three with Gene's children, Glenn, Gregg, and Gretchen. Gene also preceded her in death in 2001. Helen was an accordion teacher at the Beaver Dam Music Center for seven years. Since 1991, she played accordion with "Helen & Millie", entertaining at various nursing homes and other groups until her retirement in 2011. Helen operated Knit-n-Craft Studio in Horicon from 1970 to 1974. She was also a Secretary at Juneau Wood Products for over 20 years. Helen was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic Church, now Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served on various church committees and was a member of the Sacred Heart Christian Women. Helen is survived by her children, Patricia (Brian) Robinson of Grafton, Mary (Dale) Streblow of Burlington, Jim (Trish) Powers of Horicon, and Dave (Joan) Powers of Wisconsin Rapids; step children, Glenn (Toni) Wieczorek of Chicago, IL, Gregg (Stephanie) Wieczorek of Pewaukee, and Gretchen (Ed) Lynch of Eden Prairie, MN; 14 grandchildren, Kathi (Kevin) Polzean, Jennifer (Ryan) Bauman, Stacy (Brian) Kopecko, Jeff (Kristin) Robinson, Krista (Adam) Bold, Joseph (Brittany) Robinson, Katie Powers, Mary Cummings, Tom Cummings, David (Teresa) Powers, Jr., Gretchen Powers, Alice (Remington) Powers, Christopher Powers, and Samantha Powers; five step grandchildren, Adam Lynch, Kevin Lynch, Brian Lynch, Megan Wieczorek, and Grant Wieczorek; 11 great grandchild; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and a still-born sister. If desired, memorials may be made in Helen M Wieczorek's name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marvin's Manor, or to Generations Hospice. The Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, 716 Clinton Street, in Horicon is caring for the family.
