Helen Dorothy (Grellner) Rudroff, age 97 of Rich Fountain, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Helen was born November 1, 1927, in Jefferson City, a daughter to the late Henry and Anna (Bauer) Grellner.
She attended Sacred Heart Catholic School.
On June 17, 1950, she was united in marriage to Albert “Bert” Henry Rudroff at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain. He preceded her in death on February 8, 1979.
Helen was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Sodality and the Sewing Circle.
Helen dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her husband and children. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Helen spent endless hours in the kitchen making homemade bread, waffles, jellies, donuts, and amazing gooseberry pies. She loved playing Left Right Center, Solitaire, watching Wheel of Fortune and Card Sharks, and hosting numerous fun filled Bingo parties. Helen also enjoyed quilting, sewing, embroidery, gardening and canning and was dedicated to watching daily Mass and praying the rosary.
Helen is survived by one son, Frank Rudroff of Rich Fountain; six daughters, Pat Ward and her husband David of Jefferson City, Kathy Wolfe and her husband Kary of Linn, Jo Ann Rudroff of Rich Fountain, Jackie McCoy of Jefferson City, Janet Farris and her husband Nick of Jefferson City, and Mary Kempker and her husband Nathan of Jefferson City; three sisters, Christine Fick of Rich Fountain, Betty Stegeman of St. Elizabeth and Cathy Bernskoetter and her husband Harry of Taos; a son-in-law, Jim Janson of Moberly; nine grandchildren, Kariann (Rich) Dryer, Kristopher (Theresa) Wolfe, Korey (Monica) Wolfe, Seth (Michele) Rudroff, Megan (Elliott) Ambrose, Katlyn (Judson) Everts, Anna (Zeph) McDaniel, Ian Kilgore, and Haley (Riley) Hulse; 15 great grandchildren, Grace, Annalise, and Nathanael Dryer, Lucas, Mackenzie, and Daniel Wolfe, Mason, Hope, Joshua and William Wolfe, Lane and Caleb Rudroff, Jack, Owen, and Charlie Ambrose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her spouse of 28 years and her parents, Helen was preceded in death by a daughter, Margie Janson; one son, Robert “Bob” Rudroff; A son-in-law, Jim McCoy; five brothers, Joe, Tom, Ed, Bill and an infant brother, Paul Grellner; three sisters, Ann Wibberg, Joanie Stegeman, and an infant sister, Margaret Grellner; four brother-in-laws, Ben Fick, Leroy Stegeman, Gus Wibberg and Celsus Stegeman; and two sister-in-laws, Elsie and Mabel Grellner.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rich Fountain with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. William Debo as the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
