Helen Ann (Sebastynowicz) Sabanski, of Maynard, MA, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at the age of 93, due to complications from Alzheimer's disease.
She was born on November 25, 1931, daughter of the late John and Mary Pronski Sebastynowicz.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Albert Sabanski in 2007.
She was also Predeceased by a brother, Anthony (Tony) Sebastyn and sisters-in-law, Gladys Vaskis, Lea Sebastynowicz and Roberta Sebastyn.
Helen is survived by her children, Mark Sabanski of Maynard, MA, daughter Jill Mahoney and son-in-law Terrence Mahoney of Ashland, MA and grandchildren Joey Feddersen of Maynard, MA and Katie Feddersen of Maynard, MA whom she cherished with all her heart. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She is also survived by her big brother John Sebastynowicz, of Maynard, MA whom she not only considered the best big brother ever, but also her best friend. They enjoyed a special bond and back in the day were considered the best Polka dancers in Maynard. They loved to dance the Polka at the annual Polish Picinic at St. Casimir's Church in Maynard, where they were members for many years. Later in life, John and his late wife Lea and Helen enjoyed spending afternoons playing cribbage over a cup of tea.
Helen was a lifelong resident of Maynard, graduating from Maynard High School in 1948. After graduation, she went to work for Raytheon in Waltham until she married and started her family.
Helen loved family, working on her flowers in the yard, dancing, cooking, music, quilting, crafts, Patriots football and the Red Sox.
She and her beloved late husband Al also enjoyed spending summers on the Cape in Dennisport, MA. They also enjoyed traveling most of the country together after his retirement from the Massachusetts State Police and Digital Equipment Corporation. Another favorite destination for them was Bermuda.
Burial will be private.
