Helen (Elena) Julia Sammarco, 94, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully on Feb. 7, 2025.

Helen was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and formerly Mater Dolorosa Parish. She was also a member of the church's Christian Women's Society, a member of the Benedictine Oblates affiliated with St. Vincent Archabbey in Latrobe, and a promoter of the Miraculous Medal Association, Philadelphia.
She is survived by her brother Menotti's widow, Giannina Sammarco of Stamford, CT as well as her nieces and nephews: Domenic's widow, Betsy Sammarco of Stamford, CT, Michael (Koosje) Guravage of the Netherlands, Mary (Dolph) Yost of North Catasauqua, PA, John (Pamela) Guravage of Mansfield, MA, Leonard (Judith) Sammarco of Silver Spring, MD, Frank (Angela) Sammarco of Laytonsville, MD, Martha (Joseph ) Borraccini of Downingtown, PA, William Waldman, III of Burbank, CA, Mary (Brent) Jenkins of McLean, VA, 19 grand nephews and nieces and many extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Santo (Frances) Sammarco, Menotti Sammarco, Virginia (Anthony) Guravage, and Lily (William Jr.) Waldman, as well as nephews Donald Sammarco, and Domenic Sammarco.
Helen possessed a quiet patience and a heart overflowing with care. She consistently prioritized the needs of others above her own. Her unwavering commitment to caring for those around her was truly inspiring. She will be greatly missed.
