Helen K. Simonet

Helen Kennedy Simonet (Cis) Passed away on December 8, 2024, at the age of 95. She remained living independently in her own home as was her strong wish.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, J Thomas (Tom)Simonet
Survived by her children William (Katie), Joseph (Cindy), Mary Reilly (George), Michelle Christian (Dave), Anne McQuillan and her beloved 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Cis graduated from College of St Catherine with a degree in Child Psychology. She loved children. She used to carry extra photos on airplane trips so if there was a crying child, she could maybe help distract and calm them down!
Her favorite children were her own and her grandchildren. She enjoyed many years at Pelican Lake, Sanibel Island, Somerset Country Club and right here in St Paul. You could find her on the tennis court or golf course. She was healthy enough to continue to play golf and tennis into her 90's.
Cis had a wonderful sense of humor and was always very intentional about staying in touch with her friends. She had a passion about reading books, always had a stack, and she went through them! Her love of reading led to a 30-year avocation of volunteering to read for "Radio Talking book" through the Minnesota State Services for the Blind.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held on Sunday December 22, 2024, at O'Halloran and Murphy, 575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul. Visitation 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Memorial Service 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Convent of the Visitation School, Mendota Heights, Mn or the St. Catherine University, St. Paul, MN
We would like to express our gratitude to mom's amazing caregivers. Leah Roberts, who was with her for 6 years. And the many kind caregivers from CareAParent she truly appreciated and loved you all.
