Helen Ruth Soll passed away peacefully at the Bridges at Warwick, on Sunday, December 10, 2023. She was 96 years old. Helen was born on December 3, 1927, in East Greenwich, Rhode Island. She was manager of the Pembroke College Bookstore (the female division of Brown University at that time). She was active for many years in the ZOA, Masada and in 1967 a charter member of Southampton Chapter of ORT. She was a member of Beth Chaim from 1960 until its closing 37 years later. While at Beth Chaim she was involved in establishing the synagogue library including drawing floor plans, hiring the contractor, raising funds, as well as taking classes at Gratz to learn how to set up a Jewish library. Helen was a charter member of Darkaynu, a member of the Trevose Horticultural Society from 1985 until 2022, and a volunteer at Southampton Library for 17 years.
Helen was the third of five children born to the late Lilly and the late Jacob Sternbach. She was the wife of the late Harvey Soll, sister of the late Florence Leffler, the late Edith Sternbach, the late Morris Sternbach, and the late Irving Sternbach. Helen was mother to the late David Soll. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Robin Soll, her child and spouse Cynthia and George Colton, and her children Jack Soll and Idele Kelly. She is also survived by four grandchildren; Rachel Jaworsky, Jonathon Soll, Tristan and Calum Colton and five great grandchildren; Severin Colton, Ellie and Lilly Jaworsky, Abby and Juliette Soll.
Relatives and friends are invited to Graveside Services at 10 AM sharp on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Shalom Memorial Park, 3573 Pine Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
